Artistic Exploration Group Workshop:Duet of Nature

Venue: Macao  Museum  of Art  Av. Xian Xing Hai, Macao
Target: Kindergartens, student groups with special needs or parent-child groups
Number of participants: 40 per group at maximum

Through a relaxed, fun guided tour, we will admire a selection of authentic landscape paintings from the Ming and Qing dynasties in the National Museum of China's collection. This will be an opportunity to delve into the world of painting and to contemplate the mountains, rivers, paths, and pavilions depicted in ink wash, exploring how ancient painters used brush and ink to represent nature and express their feelings and thoughts. During the workshop, each participant will receive a specially designed folder, which they can use as a “viewing frame” to view their favourite scenes from classic paintings, then paint them with a brush on a small piece of cardboard, thus experiencing the pleasure of traditional Chinese painting. Once finished, the painting can be filed in the folder, becoming a unique work of landscape painting that blends aesthetics and functionality. Participants will thus be able to quietly experience the tranquil and leisurely feeling of ‘walking through the mountains while the heart wanders through a painting,’ that the ancients spoke of.
