Modern education values the ‘five ways of life’ – morality, intelligence, physique, social skills, and aesthetics. Aesthetic education is an integral part of this. Thanks to the efforts of our predecessors, aesthetic education permeates human life. Parents and schools emphasise children's art education.
Art fuels children’s creativity. Through art, children can freely express their thoughts, feelings, and dreams, fostering an innovative mindset and problem-solving skills. Art education not only cultivates children’s aesthetics but also promotes their emotional development and social skills. Children can explore unlimited possibilities in the vibrant art world, unleashing their boundless imagination.
The Centre Pompidou in France stands as a pioneer in children’s art education. With substantial experience, it excels in guiding children to embark on a sensory journey and creative experience. The Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government teams up with the Centre Pompidou again to bring its Kids Gallery's acclaimed art education project to Macao, forming an integral part of the inaugural Macao International Children’s Art Festival.
The exhibition is a unique opportunity for families and children to closely engage with art from various perspectives, offering a fully sensory experience. It fosters children’s interest in art and expands their aesthetic awareness. With various interactive activities, children can delve into the joy of creativity and discover a path of self-expression through art creation. Moreover, this exhibition provides a distinct experience for parents, enabling them to learn how to ignite their children’s creativity and support their development through art.
I wish the exhibition great success. I hope it breathes new life into Macao’s art education and sow the seeds of creativity in the hearts of our children.
