Fantastic Art World from Centre Pompidou

Centre Pompidou

Meant to be a place where visual arts go hand in hand with music, film, books, audiovisual research, the Centre Pompidou’s primary commitment relates to creation. It aims to enable the largest number of people to discover modern and contemporary artworks through exceptional exhibitions by supporting emerging creation and presenting a forward-looking programme based on the freedom and creativity of the artists. The museum of modern and contemporary art brings together more than 140,000 works. Patiently built up over the years, it now boasts the richest collection of modern and contemporary art in Europe and the second-largest in the world.

As soon as it opened in 1977, the Centre Pompidou was also the first institution to propose activities and exhibitions specifically designed for younger audiences with the conviction that art experience is beneficial from an early age.

Currently, a programme entirely dedicated to children is presented in the Children’s Gallery with different workshops for kids and teenagers. Designed to offer a first encounter with art, unleash creativity and provide inspiration, the programme engages the body and mind in motion through a variety of artistic experiences. Each workshop is designed by contemporary artists or echoes major artworks in the collection.

Our approach is sensitive, valuing visitor participation and involvement. Beyond artistic practice, the workshops also enable children to identify their emotions, find their own modes of expression, develop empathy, and learn cooperation in collective settings.

Our expertise in cultural mediation is now internationally recognised, and we are delighted to share these proposals with the Macao public as part of this fantastic Children’s Festival.

Exploring the use of light and shadow, colours and shades, lines and proportions, the venue creates an inspiring, artistic environment where children are immersed in exploring and creating, enjoy the fun of creativity, and broaden their aesthetic visions.

We invite everyone to have fun recomposing a minimalist work, aiming to renew the art of portraiture, creating luminous images as in the early days of cinema, and elaborating choreographies within a sculpture of dazzling colours.
