Lecture Series on the Research of the MAM Collections: The Shiwan Roof Ridges of Macao’s Historical Architecture
The Macao Museum of Art (MAM) is pleased to offer a unique opportunity for our visitors to explore the world of Shiwan roof ridges. We have invited Dr. Ma So Mui, a leading expert in this field, to conduct a thorough study of the MAM's collection. In this lecture, Dr. Ma will guide us through the historical significance, artistic value, and evolution of themes and styles in Shiwan roof ridges within Macao’s historical architecture. Using examples from Pou Chai Temple (Kun Iam Tong), the Hong Chan Kuan Temple (Bazaar Temple), and the Tou Tei Temple (Patane), she will also compare these with the Shiwan roof ridges in the museum's collection.
Speaker: Ma So Mui, a PhD holder from the University of London, has a strong academic background. She served as an assistant professor in the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts at the Education University of Hong Kong.
