Section Two :Macao – Practice
For over 470 years, Macao has been a vibrant crossroads of East and West, offering fertile ground for Mio Pang Fei’s Neo-Orientalism to take root. In this city, he made a leap from experimentation to practice and began to shape his artistic vision in earnest. The city’s rich cultural tapestry and its embrace of the arts gave him the freedom to shed the constraints of history. He refined and put his ideas and methods into practice within a broader, more complex cross-cultural context. Neo-Orientalism emerged as both a cultural standpoint and an approach to artistic evolution – a living, ever-changing system of artistic creation. This spirit shines through in the remarkable works that followed.
