East-West Contemplations: A Retrospective of Mio Pang Fei

Section Four : On Human Condition

This series embarks on a philosophical inquiry into the human condition. The artworks transcend regional boundaries, fusing an Eastern mode of reflection with the fierce tension of Western expressionism, to question what it means to exist and to find one’s spiritual home in the modern world. Since the dawn of civilisation, conflict has shadowed humanity, emerging through primal struggles, racial tensions, rivalries between states, and clashes between cultures. Each piece encapsulates this enduring paradox of survival, using the force of expressionist imagery to draw viewers into the ruins of civilisation and the traces of history, where they may find endless reflections on their own destiny.
