As midsummer arrives, the seeds of art flourish once again in Macao.
The Macao International Children’s Arts Festival celebrates its third edition this year, also marking the third consecutive year of partnership between MGM and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government in presenting this vibrant cultural celebration for children and families. At MGM, we have always believed that culture carries the mission of preserving and passing on heritage, while at the same time inspiring imagination, nurturing creativity, and enriching the growth of future generations. When childhood wonder meets aesthetics, it sparks limitless possibilities and infuses our city with an enduring vitality.
This year, we are delighted to present Echo the Wind Wanderer, a heartfelt creation by artist Ekokaxi. Through a warm and imaginative artistic language, her work brings to life a wondrous world that invites visitors to touch, explore, and engage, inspiring them to rediscover the purest forms of curiosity and joy. Beyond the main exhibition at the Macao Museum of Art, the extended exhibition makes its debut at MGM COTAI. Transcending the boundaries of traditional gallery spaces, it integrates art into the public realm, creating opportunities for residents and visitors alike to encounter moments of beauty amid their daily lives.
‘Echo’ represents the precious childlike innocence that lives within each of us, while ‘Wind Wanderer’ embodies a spirit of fearless exploration and the freedom to pursue one’s dreams. As visitors wander through the exhibition, they are invited to engage with the artworks beyond mere observation, rediscovering the world through a child’s eyes and reconnecting with the simple joys, wonder, and inspiration awakened through interaction, discovery, and imagination.
As a company deeply rooted in Macao, MGM has long been committed to fostering open and inclusive cultural spaces where art and culture are woven into the fabric of everyday life. The debut of the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival at MGM COTAI not only allows residents and visitors to experience the charm of art and culture up close, but also reflects our steadfast commitment to supporting Macao’s cultural development, nurturing the creative potential of future generations, and growing alongside the city.
We sincerely wish the Macao International Children’s Arts Festival every success. We hope that everyone who encounters the Echo the Wind Wanderer will discover a world of imagination uniquely their own, and experience the beauty, freedom, and wonder that life has to offer. May the seeds of culture continue to take root and flourish in Macao, blossoming into every possibility for generations to come.
