Curatorial Statement
Zhang Qianyuan
My name is Qianyuan. I am the curator of this exhibition and the mother of a six-year-old.
Ever since entering motherhood, I have come to believe that an adventurous ‘Echo’ lives within every child. Yet as we grow older, we often close the door on that inner child, forgetting to let her roam free.
There is no rulebook for this exhibition. We warmly invite you to set aside your ‘adult self’ and rediscover the world through a child’s eyes. Touch, wander off course, misinterpret, and let your imagination run wild. In Echo’s world, softness can mask anxiety, and the unfamiliar often brings surprises – reflecting the childhood we have long missed. Step into Echo the Wind Wanderer – you don’t have to be anyone but yourself.
